Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the rules and restrictions governing all messaging and API usage on the ONO platform, operated by ONO India Private Limited ("Company").
1. Zero Tolerance for Spam
ONO is built strictly for legitimate business-to-customer communication. We enforce a zero-tolerance policy against unsolicited bulk messaging (spam). Every outbound template message or campaign broadcast must be sent to an individual who has explicitly opted in to receive communication from your organization.
2. Prohibited Contact Sourcing
You are strictly prohibited from uploading, importing, or targeting contacts obtained via:
- Purchased Lists: Third-party marketing directories, business registries, or lead generation databases.
- Scraped Numbers: Phone numbers extracted automatically from websites, social media directories, Google Maps, or public databases.
- Co-Registration Schemes: Contacts gained through deceptive or bundled opt-in checkboxes on unrelated websites.
3. Mandatory Opt-In and Consent Logging
Whenever importing contacts into ONO, you must tag the verified consent origin (e.g., website contact form, in-store QR code, past customer purchase, or paper contract). You must maintain verifiable proof of opt-in and produce it upon request in the event of a customer dispute or Meta compliance audit.
4. Obligation to Honor STOP / Opt-Outs
Under WhatsApp Business guidelines, recipients must have an effortless way to stop receiving communications:
- Our automated compliance engine detects keywords such as
STOP,UNSUBSCRIBE, andCANCEL. - You may not attempt to circumvent or clear automated suppression records for unsubscribed contacts.
- Any manual request by a contact via chat to cease messages must be resolved immediately by your team.
5. Prohibited Content and Use Cases
You may not use ONO to transmit, broadcast, or facilitate:
- Illegal goods, unregulated pharmaceuticals, or prescription drugs
- Pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing (MLM), or deceptive "get rich quick" offers
- Phishing, malware delivery, or fraudulent impersonation of financial institutions or government agencies
- Hate speech, harassment, defamation, or sexually explicit content
- Unauthorized lottery, gambling, or predatory lending promotions
6. Meta Quality Rating Protection
Meta assigns a phone number quality rating (Green / Yellow / Red) based on customer block and report rates. If your workspace generates an abnormally high block rate or receives repeated spam flags from Meta, ONO India Private Limited reserves the right to immediately suspend campaign broadcast functionality to protect the shared infrastructure and platform integrity.
7. Reporting Violations
If you suspect an account is abusing ONO or sending unauthorized broadcasts, please report the details to our compliance desk at tinkal.nitmz@gmail.com.
